Privacy notice

Using SelfGoneFile without an account reduces the information you provide, but it does not mean that no technical data is processed.

Last updated: August 5, 2026

1. Information involved

  • Files you upload and related metadata, such as name, type, size, creation time and expiration choice.
  • Network and security data, which may include IP address, timestamps, request details and user agent.
  • Report information, including the resource identifier, reason, description and reporter IP.
  • Account information such as email and authentication data when optional account features are used.
  • Browser-side preferences and session data needed for themes, upload duration or authentication.

2. Why we use it

  • Store, deliver, expire and delete files as requested.
  • Associate uploads with an account when an authenticated user asks us to do so.
  • Apply request limits, investigate abuse and protect the platform.
  • Diagnose failures and maintain service availability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, security and legal requests.

3. Service providers

Infrastructure, storage, email and network-protection providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services. Cloudflare services, including Turnstile when enabled, may receive network and browser information under their own applicable terms and privacy documentation.

4. Retention and deletion

Files are scheduled for deletion according to the selected storage duration and can be removed earlier through a valid deletion link or enforcement action. Technical logs, security records, reports and account information may follow different retention periods when reasonably needed for operation, security, dispute handling or legal obligations. Cache or backup expiration may not be instantaneous.

5. Public links and deletion secrets

Anyone with a public file URL may be able to access the file. A deletion URL grants deletion authority and should be treated as a secret. Do not include sensitive information in a file unless you understand how it will be shared.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no internet service can promise absolute security, anonymity or uninterrupted availability.

7. Your choices and rights

You may ask about access, correction, deletion, opposition or other rights available under applicable data protection law. Send the request from a reliable contact address and include enough information to locate the relevant account, report or file without sending passwords or deletion tokens unnecessarily.
